Holidays and NaNoWriMo

Those of you who have been following my occasional tweets, either on Twitter itself or via Facebook or the widget on the right hand side of this page, will already know that I have signed up to take part in this years NaNoWriMo, because I apparently didn't think I had enough to do.  I'm going to be attempted to work on a novel I have already attempted to write twice, each time failing at around the 20,000 word mark, which is not, you'll agree, very far.  NaNoWriMo, to be completed, required 50,000 words, all written afresh in the month of November, so that's quite a challenge, but maybe it's also the kick up the proverbial which I require to get some serious writing done outside of Shadow (which hasn't induced me to an awful lot of new writing so far anyway).

'But what of Shadow?' you ask, aghast that I should take my thoughts and my metaphorical pen to any other idea than the one to which you diligently, return week-by-week.  (Clearly my tongue is both so sharp and so far  'in-cheek' that I must be bleeding right now).  Well, patient and forgiving reader, it is my intention to ensure that I have enough of a backlog of episodes to see my through the month of November without having to write any new ones and thus detract from the NaNo project, or vice-versa.  How I will have the time to do this lead to my next point.

I am on holiday from this coming Saturday to the following Saturday.  I shall be enjoying my relaxation in the glorious English Lakes, or the Lake District as it is more commonly known.  If the weather is good, fells will be climbed.  If the weather is, as they say, inclement, then I shall stay inside and drink tea and eat cake with much good company.  Either way there will still be a substantial amount of the latter in the evening and I shall take my laptop to ensure that I get as much writing done before the end of October as possible.  This does mean that this week's episode shall be scheduled and that some of the usual updates to links, etc. will go undone until I can get back to so-called civilisation.  Please bear with me.
